Under 15's Blues v Westbury Youth

Melksham move into 3rd after 2-1 win over Westbury.

After there loss to Westbury in the cup the Blues were keen to show this was a one off result. Melksham started at a gallop pushing forward and creating some early chances for George and Paul. There was some fine interplay up front with Matty, George linking up on the left with James and Simon. Melksham finally broke the deadlock with Paul breaking through on the left and slotting the ball across the penalty area for George to slot home.  With Melksham dominating the Midfield further chances came with a George header going just wide and the Westbury  keeper making saves from Matty.

The defence were dominating the long ball tactics to the very quick Westbury forwards and when they did manage to get through Peter was on hand to save or a last grasp tackle came in.

Westbury came more into the game at the beginning of the second half  but were not troubling the Melksham goal. A second goal from George after a run from Paul settled the Melksham nerves. Both teams were still very committed and Westbury came back into the game with 11 minutes to go.

There were further chances for the blues to pull ahead but the Westbury keeper made 2 fine saves.

Well done lads, you kept a good shape and were very committed from back to front.

The game was well refereed by Steve Traveller.
