Under 15's Blue defeat the Reds
Blues start the new year with a win.
After a run of 5 defeats the Blues got back to winning ways in style against the Reds missing a couple of key players.
The Blues were on top from the start using both wings to good effect, and playing some ball sover the top for Paul to chase. After some fine saves from the Reds goalie Matty broke the deadlock on 20 minutes with a second to follow on 22. Paul increased the lead on 23 minutes to put the Blues in the driving seat. The Reds still looked dangersous coming forward with Lewis having a couple attempt on goal. Matty completed his hattrick on 33 minutes followed by the Best goal of the game from Ben striding forward from right back to hit a sweetly hit strike into the top left hand corer of the goal. Paul completed the scoring on 36 minutes in the first half, before Melksham lost James who put his body on the line in the penalty error to stop a strike from Lewis, sustaining ligament damage and will be missing for a couple of weeks.
The second half stated with the Reds striding forward but were caught on the counter with a sweetly played ball by Jack Ewer for Paul to complete his hattrick. There were several more efforts from George and Paul but were superbly stopped by the reds keeper. goals from Paul 52, Jonathan on 51, George 69, own goal 73 and Paul on 83 completed the scoring. A good all round performance from the team from back to front, well done lads.
