Under 15's Blue Bounce back with Win
Melksham Town under 15's Blue bounced back after there defeat to league leaders Melksham Park with a 3-0 win over FC Chippenham.
Melksham started brightly with Matty hitting the bar from close after a fine cross from Jonathan. Joe and Simon were winning the midfield battle and were placing some great paces through for George and Paul to run onto but just eluded the forwards with a defender or keeper just getting to the ball first. The Deadlock was finally broken when a through ball eluded the keeper and defender and was slotted home by George. Further chances fell to Simon from long range and Jonathan slotting just wide. The defence limited the FC Chippenham forwards to long range shots and launched attacks through the midfield.
Chippenham came out on the attack at the start of the second half coming close early on but Peter saved well.
Will thought he had scored his first goal for the team after heading home from a cross from George but the ball had gone out of play. Simon's long clearance from defence set up the second goal with george running onto the ball to slot home. Paul, Simon and Jonathan all went close before George completed his hattrick on 78 minutes curling the ball into the top right hand corner. This was a good team performance with the Warminster game coming next week. On the injury front Mike has a clean break in his wrist and will be out for the rest of the league season, hopefully jack K will be back next week.
