MTYFC Under 15's Blue V Castle Combe
U15 Blues go down narrowly in a Combe in tought encounter.
After a 2 week brak due to the bad weather MTYFC U15 Blues ran out against Castle Combe who won narrowly 1-0 earlier in the season. The early exchanges were even with a chance at each end but most of the action was taking place in midfield. Castle combe got the break through on 20 minutes when the Coombe striker nipped in slotting the ball under the Melksham goalie. Melksham pushed forward forcing a number of corners but could not get onto the end of them. Shots from Paul, Simon, Joe and George went close. The Second half saw Melksham begin to dominate more of the play, but were being snubbed out by a hard working Caste Coombe midfield and defence. With time pushing on Melksham hit the bar twice, once from a Jack Kelly header, and a thunderous shot from Paul. Castle Combe broke down the right with 3 minutes to go and converted the cross which was cruel on the defence as thay had played strongly with Ben having his best game of the season, playing at right back and in the centre, with Jack. Melksham were not finished as Paul powered forward to be fouled for a undisputed penalty. Paul brushed himself off and slotted the ball home. A game which we shoud not of lost and a few things for the team to work on for the forthcoming matches.
