Action from the U15 Reds v Blues

After MTYFC Reds win over Castle Combe who had defeated the Blues the previous week the Reds were in confident mood. Both teams had their Goal keepers unavailable but had 2 able and willing!! stand ins.

The Blues pushed forward from the start with the new formation making chances for george who shot narrowly wide after fine balls from Joe and Jonathan. on 13 minutes George broke the deadlock slotting the ball home to the leftof the keeper. The reds were coming more into the game with Sam playing in Aaron and Lewis but the blues defence  stood firm.  The Blues doubled their lead on 25 minues when Paul headed home after a fine ball from Jon on the right. His second came on 28 minutes after breaking the defensive line and slotted the ball to the goalies right.  Ben in the Blues goal was called into action getting to the ball on a couple of occasions as the reds slotted the ball through for the reds forwards.  as half time approached george latched onto a loose ball and lashed it into the net.

The second half turned into a midfeld battle as both teams could not find the rhythm they had in the first. After a number of dangerous corners from Matty Paul headed home after Simon's header came off the crossbar. He was also unlucky as his previous attempt was well saved by the Reds keeper, Jonathan also went close with his header just going past the right post.  Paul concluded the scoring on 69 minutes taking his tally to 4 for the match.

A very good performance, especially first half by the Blues with the defence strong and feeding a hard working Midfield and a dangerous forward line.  Lets keep this going for the next match v Westbury.
