MTYFC u13 Girls v Swindon Spitfires
U13 Girls stay top after a convincing win.
After torrential rain all week the game v Swindon Spitfires went ahead at the Highworth ground which was in perfect condition. The game started with both teams having chances in a even start to the game, Tash having 2 chances go narrowly past the post. Melksham then took the lead after Mary slotted home after the Spits keeper failed to hold a shot for Holly. Mary got her 2nd soon after straight from a corner on the right. Ash then scored from a mary corner, looping the loose ball into the net to make it 3. Holly then chased a ball in the bottom left hand corner
which she managed to keep in and cross for mary to complete her hattrick. Holly finished the first half scoring slotting the ball to the left of the goalie after beating 2 players.
The second half saw the spits pushing forward forcing 2 saves from Abi, one a great punch from a corner.
Ashley slotted the 6th goal with a fine strike from a throw in. Holly completed the scoring later in the game slotting home after a fine solo run. There were further efforts from Naomi, Alex, Lozza and Jade going just wide. Naomi, played some nice one, two's to set up shooting positions with Holly, Lozza worked tirelessly throughout the game playing in 3 different positions and could of chipped in with a goal if not for a brave save from the spits keeper.
Well played girls FC Chippenham next.
