MTYFC u13 Girls v Bradford Town Youth
Melksham Stay top after 4-0 win over Bradford Town Youth.
After nearly a month without a game Melksham u13 girls returned to league action agianst a confident Bradford side without the injured Holly, knowing 3 more wins would secure the league title.
Melksham attacked from the start with shots from Ash and Tash going wide. The deadlock was broke to 10 minutes when Melksham put a flowing move together with Ash crossing from the right and the ball deflecting off a Bradford defender. Chances became harder as the defences were winning their battles with the forwards, and shots were coming in from long distance. Chelsea and Naomi had chances late in the half to extend the lead but were saved by the Bradford keeper.
With Melksham shooting into the wind in the second half Bradford pushed forward forcing a number of corners which Melksham managed to clear. From one of these Mary broke forward and from a cruncing tackle with the Bradford defender Mary got up and slotted the ball home.
The defence had to be on their guard with Millie pulling the strings in the Bradford attacks.
Mary got her second after a run from the half way line brushing off 2 defender to stroke the ball home.
The scoring was finished by Jade scoring her first league goal after a fine cross from Ash.
Lozza is now a injury doubt for next week after she was injured after stopping a Bradford 3 on 1 attack.
Well done girls another win and clean sheet but, lots of things to work on in the next few weeks to get back to the flowing football we were playing a few weeks ago.
