MTYFC u13 Girls Through to Cup Semi's

MYTFC under 13 girls continued their fine form with a comprehensive victory over a battling Swindon Spitfires side to progress to the cup semi finals.

Melksham pressed from the start with efforts from Holly and Tash. The opening goal on 4 minutes game from a acurate cross  from Holly which Tash half volleyed into the net.  Tash doubled the lead on 9 minutes finishing off calmly after another neat ball from Holly found tash in space. Ash  and Holly went close until Naomi scored a fine solo goal beating 4 players before neatly slotting the ball home. The spitfires forced a number of corners which melksham managed to clear with Mary and lauren dominant in defence.  After a number of changes Melksham increased their lead with another double from Tash on 41 and 43 minutes. Jade had an impressive game of the season with some great runs and crosses from the left including some fine corners creating several chances.  Chelsea and Jess making some crucial tackles in Midfield and defence to form a solid base for attacks from lauren, Mary, naomi, Ash and Holly but the Spitfires keeper kept out numerous attempts before Holly slotted the 6th on 46 minutes.

Both sides tried to play some neat football in very muddy conditions with Melksham  rotating the squad with players playing in new positions in preperation for tough games ahead.
