Under 12 Girls Share Spoils in Eight goal Thriller

A cool damp start soon gave way to red hot action.

Melksham U12 girls were at home to top of the table Swindon spitfires in what could well turn out to be the match of the season.

A goal inside 20 seconds saw Swindon spitfires leading. Melksham fought back and with both sides playing some excellent football further goals looked likely.

Melksham equalised on 25 mins with a goal from Holly Provis.

Both teams were glad of the ½ time break to regroup.

The second half saw football of an even higher standard with some excellent passing and movement ending in goals for both sides. A hectic 12 minutes saw Holly Provis score on 39 mins for melksham.

On 41 mins Swindon Spitfires equalised. On 43 mins Swindon Spitfires took the lead only for Holly Provis to complete her hat trick on 45 mins. However Swindon spitfires weren’t finished and on 48 mins they scored again. This time it was Melksham’s turn to respond and with 9 mins left Jessica Flanagan-Weeks shot home from close range to tie the game.

A well earned draw and fantastic game.
