Melksham Town U12 Girls v Wootton Bassett
Melksham hit the high notes after long lay off
After a long layoff the U12 Girls got back into league action with a bang. Playing in cold conditions and only 6 a side Melksham dominated from the start with early shots on goal from Shannon, Jess and Mel.
Shannon finally broke the deadlock, with a turn and shot and a second soon came again from Shannon after some fine passing.
Courtney is the Melksham Goal came to the rescue with two saves, when one on one with the Bassett forward. A goal from Mel just before half time sent in Melksham 3-0 up.
A quick turn around and Melksham were back on the attack, with mel slotting in a second with a fierce Shot. melksham were creating chance after chance, but a terrific display from the Bassett Goalie was keeping the score down. Fluid moves from Ellie, Tash, Jess Shannon and Mel when created a chance for
Kirsty who knocked the ball home fro Melkshams fifth. Shannon had a chance to complete her hattrick but shot wide, she soon made amends scoring from a corner and then hitting a left foot shot into the top corner to make it 7-0 to Melksham. Mel completed the scoring with her 3rd and Melksham's eighth.
Melksham were strong at the back, with Evan, Ellie and Lily keeping it tight and Courtney making a couple of fantastic saves for her 2nd clean sheet in a row.
