SAINTS U10 PUT TO THE TEST
After all the speculation off the field concerning the manager,it was on the pitch that the real fireworks were fired.
It was the game they had been waiting for, the 2 strongest teams in the blue division head to head.
It was the first real test for the saints and to be honest we were on the back foot for the first 5-10 minutes FC Chippenham scored an early goal and as there results have shown they are very hard to break down. 3 big defenders and a very hard working team in front of them made Melkshams task of getting a goal very hard. There were chances for both teams with melksham making the chippenham goalkeeper and defence work the hardest.
Chippenham still had there chances and if the Saints are to progess and improve they must learn from these games. To many times we left ourselves stretched at the back and going forward we held on to the ball to long,we were to quiet and need to be much more positive and encouraging of each other rather than moaning and negative. Effort wise i was very pleased with the team as a whole but we do have to give 110% even if we are playing in a position we do not like.
When a team plays very defensively we must try to get more shots away from just outside the box this we will talk about and work on in the next few weeks.
Our equaliser was a result of such a shot ,well done jack,
see you tue
