U8 MTYFC Saints v Devizes (Away)
Strong second half comeback from the Saints.
Both teams showed great determination playing in very windy conditions when the under 8 Saints met Devizes this week. Devizes managed to score two well deserved goals in the first half despite the constant and equal efforts of Adam and Fin to shut them down.
Once the second half was underway the Saints continued their composed passing and managed to generate more goal scoring opportunities. The first Melksham goal came from Harry making the score 2-1 to Devizes.
Devizes then fought back with their third goal of the game. Another from Harry and then a goal from Ben suddenly found the Saints back on level terms.
More goals then followed in the remainder of the game with two for Sam, one for Tom another for Ben and amazingly another two from Harry.
Devizes came very close to scoring again with one of the best shots of the game, taken from a free kick in the closing minutes. The high shot was met by a superb save from Jack at full stretch.
This was probably the best football the Saints have played to date. Even when 3-1 down they still played with the same impressive composure and determination.
Man of the match - Harry
Final score MTYFC Saints 9 - Devizes 3.
