Weekend Football
I was fortunate to watch 5 Melksham town matches this weekend and each match was played in a sporting and friendly manner.
I thought I would write a small piece about the weekend football in Melksham In the light of the current problems the mid wilts league is having with abusive behaviour at matches.
On Sat I watched both the u11's play some really good football and both teams come away with good victories and was impressed by the fact that coaches and Managers from both teams were there supporting each other.
On Sunday Morning I Watched the u12's yellows battle hard on a desperate pitch and come off caked in mud and despite losing give a spirited performance.
Then it was off to watch the u12's blue team play against local rivals park which was in the second half with the blues 4-0 up, only to witness a fightback by park in the second half with the blues holding out to win 4-3.
Sunday afternoon and another local derby match .....Town u13's Reds against Park u13's in which park came out on top.
All the Managers,Coaches,Spectators and the Players themselves must be congratulated for providing 5 games free of any incidents or disagreements......a few odd decisions by ref's but thats football .......So well done to everyone Involved with those matches.
