U12 Reds Finish Season With a Draw
Melksham Town U12 Reds Completed their season with a superb draw against 2nd in the table Chippenham Town youth in what was a very entertaining and competive match.
Melksham opened the scoring after 10 mins through Sean and then had to defend solidly as Chippenham came back at them creating several chances to level the score before finally finding the net to square the match at half time.
The second half saw Melksham start well and they were soon rewarded for their pressure as Richie found space and beat the keeper with an angled shot into the roof of the net to make the score 2-1 and shortly after from a corner the ball fell to Melksham defender Tom who from some way out hit a superb volley which beat the chippenham keeper to make the score 3-1 with 20 mins left to go.
At 3-1 Melksham were looking likely to add to there tally, but Chippenham to their credit never gave up and with 10 mins left pulled a goal back and then with almost the last kick of the game somehow found the equaliser to leave the final score at 3-3.
Man of the Match for Melksham was Tom who was impressive in defence and scored his first goal of the season as well.
