A good start to the season

U9 Robins draw to AFC Corsham Jaguars

It were quite boggy

Despite some players moving positions, and missing our superduperstar defender Owen H, Robins valiantly pulled back from a 0-2 deficit to draw 2-2 and gave the spectators a nailbiting finale...

Poor old Captain Joe Wood wasnt feeling 100% but was still getting stuck in on lots of action, and several others had to keep sniffing up their candlesticks; as if the pitch wasnt slippery enough already. Owen T had a few cracks at goal and was unlucky not to score. Owen and Joe are both getting in some great tackles in midfield. Cam also did a great job in midfield and up front.

After Corshams early goal they scored a second at about 15 minutes and within moments from the kick off we passed our way right up the field and George banged in a cracker to leave the half time score at 2-1.

In the second half the tension built and Robins just kept getting stronger. Zak whacked the ball into the goal area and it went in off a defender, leaving the score at 2-2.

The last 5 minutes were electric, and the ball spent its whole time in the opponents half, we were really unlucky not to score after several consecutive corners and lots of near misses. The opposition really were up against it.

Henry and George really stood out as playing well today, but MOTM has to be Zak for an outstanding performance and that cracking cross that turned into an own goal.

This was great football, and everything has come together really well for the Robins. Look out Division 2 !!
