U10 Robins win 4-3 away at Marshfield

Great performance

In our first match of the season, Robins took and early lead with a great goal from Zak but the opposition soon pulled back to 1-1. Shaun and Joe pushed us back into the lead and Joe finished with his second goal 5 minutes from the end. Shaun then pulled back to defence and help keep things tight until the final whistle.

Robbie, Tom and Kyle played really well in their first Robins game while twins Ieuan and Will did a great job at the back despite being in serious need of a haircut. Tom also had a spell in goal which worked really well with some great saves and strong kicking.

Towards the end of the game, just like last season, it was corner after corner and the ball stayed down their end. That shows how strong we became, and how strong we can be.

This was a tough game and we did well to pull through against some great players. An excellent start to the season. Well done THE ROBINS

PS just a few minor points that we could work on on weds... Passing throughout was strong but we need to work on supporting the guy with the ball some more (being close enough that he can pass to you). We should practice taking throw ins and passing back to the guy who took the throw. Also lets get those goal kicks higher and longer so they cross the centre line, and maintain a strong central defence for when it goes low. And finally our midfielders need to spend at least 50% of their time out of the other sides penalty area. Imagine the score if we got all these right ! 4 -0  of course. OK so we'll also spend some time working on goal scoring.
