U10's Saints 4 Trowbridge Town B 3
Well done boys!
An excellent start to the season saw The Saints run out 4-3 winners over Trowbridge Town B.
Saints started well and took a deserved lead with Kai opening his account for the season. Despite continuing to press forward we conceded the lead later in the first halve. However we were only behind for a couple of minutes before Mattie drilled in a great goal from out on the left to leave us 2-1 up at half time.
After the break we continued to press and moved confidently to a 4-1 lead as Kai completed an excellent hat-trick including a great header from Will's well directed corner. Kai's first goal ever with his head but more will surely come.
At this stage we were looking comfortable but a mad couple of minutes saw us concede a couple of sloppy goals. Things were then pretty tense and although we continued to press and hit the post we were very grateful to an excellent save from Cam before the final whistle.
Overall this was a really great performance and congratulations are due to everybody. Cam was great in goal, Eddie, Tom and Will were very solid at the back, Mattie, Henry and George but in loads of effort in the midfield and Kai was awesome up front.
We played as a team and kept up a good pace throughout the game. It was noticeable that most players were pretty exhausted as we got towards the end so we need to work on the fitness levels a bit. No burgers and chips; lots of fruit, veggies and exercise!!!!
