U16 Blues battle it out in Cup final
MTYFC U16 Blues
A match delayed due to heavy overnight rain started evenly with a chance at each end. After 15 minutes AFC Calne vound the breakthrough scoring after latching onto a fine cross from the right. Melksham pushed forward and a shot from jake Adams produced a fine save from the Calne goalie.
Calne broke down a Melksham attack and produced a flowing move which ended with Calne going 2 up. The Melksham capyain had t come off soon after with a hamstring injury and Melksham reshuffled the team.
the 2nd half started with Calne on the attack and took a 3-0 lead with a well worked move down the right with the shot eluding Peter in the Melksham goal. Melksham battled on and had a chance through a couple of freekicks but were caught again with 15 minutes to go as Calne moved 4 in front.
Melksham never gave up the cause and battled to the final minute.
Melksham centre half Lewis Sommerville was named man of the match.
