Adding a news item under Allocation of Pitches

Adding a news item to the Allocation of Pitches section (and the front page).

  1. Login by clicking the 'login' link top right of screen.
  2. Click on the 'Managers' menu tab.
  3. Click on the folder for 'Allocation of Pitches'
  4. Click 'Add News Item'
  5. Enter a title e.g. Pitches Closed this Weekend 
  6. Enter a description. Its usually best to use the first sentence of your news item here.
  7. Enter the 'Body Text' i.e. The main text of your news.
  8. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
  9. After saving you will notice that the 'State' of the document in the green bar above is set to 'Private' to complete the process click on the word 'Private' and change the state to 'Publish'.
  10. If you wish the news item to display on the central column on the main welcome page then re-edit the news item (click on edit in the green bar). Click on Categorization, select 'Front Page News' and then press 'Save'
     
    As well as being displayed under the pitch allocation section, news items are also displayed on the main 'News' tab of the site.
     
    If you wish to remove a news item from view, click on the word 'Published' on the green bar and select 'Retract'.
     
    You can edit the news item at any time by opening it, clicking on 'Edit' in the green bar, making changes and then re-saving.
